DIRECTOR OF GOLF/HEAD GOLF PROFESSIONAL - MONARCH BEACH GOLF LINKS

Reports To:       General Manager
 
Position Purpose:
As a member of the Golf Management Team the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professional is responsible and accountable for the daily operations of the golf shop staff, guest service staff and coordinates with the General Manager to provide first class service for our guests.  This includes meeting or exceeding our established standards for guest experience, sales and financial performance.  As the Director of Golf/Head Golf Professional you must lead by example, taking a proactive position to all issues concerning the golf shop and guest services.  Additional duties may be assigned as required.
 
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Shall be responsible for needs and customer satisfaction of resort guests, and outside play as well as provide for management of staff, control of revenue and expenses, establish and administer golf instruction programs and policies, oversee tournament operations, retail operations, marketing plans, oversee golf car cleanliness and maintenance, establish budgets, attend meetings and other professional advice, represent the club in tournaments and other golf related activities.  Oversee daily operation of all of the above.
  • Shall be responsible for hiring and training the most qualified personnel available, which benefit the overall success of the club. 
  • Shall maintain an open line of communication and oversee the performance of both the inside and outside staff and conduct regular staff meetings.
  • Shall establish pricing policies and assist staff in providing qualified instruction and oversee the scheduling of lessons. 
  • Shall monitor and promote group instruction.
  • Shall establish administer budgets as requested by management. 
  • Shall monitor daily revenues and expenses and recommend, as necessary, steps which maximize the profitability of the club.
  • Shall be responsible for the Tee Sheet & Point of Sale software as it relates to Golf.
  • Shall be responsible for performing a physical inventory of the Golf Shop monthly.
  • Shall set and post hours of operation and be responsible for the proper operation and appearance of the practice facility to insure an adequate supply of practice balls are available at all times.
  • Shall be responsible for the proper servicing and repair of the golf car fleet. 
  • Shall oversee the daily washing and cleanliness of cars and supervision of player service attendants and mechanic.
  • Shall establish and/or suggest to and for management promotions and marketing strategies deemed to be in the best interest of management to meet both the short and long term goals of the club and to insure maximum profitability. This includes helping the General Manager promote a healthy club image via multiple Social Media outlets.
  • Shall be available for meetings requested by management and provide professional advice and opinions which are deemed beneficial to the club. 
  • Shall work closely with the golf course superintendent and other departments in coordinating activities, which benefit the club.
  • Shall represent the club in various tournaments to promote good will and exposure for the club. 
  • Shall also represent the club in various other golf related functions, which would promote good community relations and exposure for the club.
  • Shall cooperate in performing any other duty deemed reasonable and necessary by the supervisor or management.
Experience / Education / Certification Requirements:
  • Some college education or its equivalent.
  • Active Class A PGA status or its equivalent.
  • Must be computer literate with accurate math and typing skills.
  • Must have valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. to waist height.
  • Some repetitive motion required including computer entry.
  • Frequent bending, turning, kneeling and stooping.
  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Normal vision and hearing ranges required.
  • Regular attendance and overtime required for scheduled shifts.
