Tournaments and contests to raise funds at 10 sites throughout November
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – For the second straight year, OB Sports is proud to announce its participation in the Movember campaign. This November, 10 OB Sports courses will support drawing attention to important men’s health initiatives, by helping to raise funds through tournaments, contests and short-format skills challenges.

“There are roughly 19 million male golfers in the United States,” said Marisa Fallone, Director of Marketing & Events for OB Sports. “Given our access to such a large male audience, golf is a great vehicle for us to share the message of men’s heath.”

The Movember Foundation raises awareness of men’s health issues by challenging men to grow moustaches during November, or to make a commitment to get active.

“Because of our success with what we referred to as ‘MoGolf’ last year, we gained the attention of the Foundation,” Fallone said. “And we have been working for the past nine months on various initiatives to expand on what we accomplished in 2015.”

A portion of each green fee will be donated to Movember Foundation. This marks the second year of involvement for OB Sports, having raised more than $8,000 last year.

“These events will be open to all golfers, from the most skilled to the novice,” Fallone said. “They’re meant to be competitive, but not the least bit intimidating.”

Participating courses include Angel Park Golf Club in Las Vegas, ASU Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., High Meadow Ranch Golf Course in Magnolia, Tex., The Legacy Golf Club in Henderson, Nev., Monarch Beach Golf Links in Dana Point, Calif., Papago Golf Course in Phoenix, Randolph North Golf Course in Tucson, Ariz., Sedona Golf Resort in Sedona, Ariz., Tijeras Creek Golf Club in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., and The Golf Club at Vistoso in Oro Valley, Ariz. TravisMathew is sponsoring first prize at each event.

In addition to generating funds through the MoGolf events, each course has its own fundraising team on the Movember Foundation website, as part of the OB Sports fundraising network. OB Sports will not only be gathering donations at a corporate level, but will also recognize the course to generate the most support.
