Reinecke comes to Eagle Mountain from Cave Creek Golf Course

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. — Eagle Mountain Golf Club in Fountain Hills, Ariz., is proud to announce the hiring of Mike Reinecke as Superintendent. Reinecke, along with his staff, has led numerous recent golf course improvement projects on the property since May.

“I’m excited to join one of the top golf courses in the region, and work with one of the top club staffs in the business,” said Reinecke. “Let’s get to work and deliver on Eagle Mountain’s promise of top quality golf for its loyal players!”

“Mike was a tremendous hire for Eagle Mountain and we are thrilled to have him,” said Bret Greenwood, Eagle Mountain Golf Club General Manager. “His work with different OB Sports properties the last five years has yielded great results, and we look forward to achieving the same level of success here at Eagle Mountain.”

Reinecke has already overseen several improvements to the golf course at Eagle Mountain, beginning with addressing high salt levels in certain sections of grass. To fight this issue, new drain basins have been added in all low fairway areas to help remove standing water. Heavily sloped areas have also been given added drainage to prevent excess water from settling in low fairway spots, with new top soil and sod laid down at these specific points. No fewer than 10 holes on the golf course have seen major improvements thus far.

Reinecke comes to Fountain Hills after a successful stint at City of Phoenix-owned Cave Creek Golf Course. Under his supervision, Cave Creek improved playing conditions across the board, leading to improved condition ratings from players. Prior to Cave Creek, Reinecke was instrumental in executing a massive course renovation at Raven Golf Club in Phoenix.

Before joining OB Sports, Reinecke spent 12 years in the Tournament Players Club (TPC) Network. He spent most of his time at the TPC Scottsdale Stadium Course, executing the same sodium remediation project in 2007 as Eagle Mountain is currently undergoing. He also assisted in the construction of TPC Valencia in Valencia, Calif.

“I’ve been fortunate to get some great hands-on experience in my many years of golf course maintenance,” said Reinecke. “I feel like Eagle Mountain is the perfect spot to put a lot of methods I’ve learned to good use. It really is a perfect fit.”
