FOUR OB SPORTS-MANAGED FACILITIES SELECTED FOR
GOLF WORLD BUSINESS’ LIST OF THE “100 BEST GOLF SHOPS”
This marks the fourth time for Angel Park (located in Las Vegas, Nev.), the fifth time for We-Ko-Pa (located in Fort McDowell, Ariz.) and two debut appearances from Sandia Golf Club (located in Albuquerque, N.M.) and Somerby Golf Club (located in Byron, Minn.).
Each club submitted an application that included descriptions of sales initiatives, successful promotions and steps that were taken to overcome the largest challenge of the 2006 season. A detailed financial report was submitted to reflect annual revenue. The facilities also defined how they applied effective marketing practices to maximize revenue. Six photos were included to showcase the merchandise displays and overall layout within the golf shops.

We-Ko-Pa Golf Club features two outstanding the golf courses – the Cholla Course and the Saguaro Course.  Open since December 2001, We-Ko-Pa’s Cholla course, a Scott Miller-design, is one of the most highly-acclaimed layouts to open in Arizona. Accolades include: Top Ten Best New Courses in the World, Sports Illustrated; 2002 Development of the Year, Golf Inc. Magazine; Best New Public Course, The Arizona Republic; Top 40 Daily Fee Golf Course in US, 2006 GOLF Magazine; one of the “50 Most Popular Golf Courses in the US” by the 2006-07 ZAGAT Survey.
We-Ko-Pa’s new Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw-designed Saguaro Course just opened for public play on December 16, 2006 and has already received it’s first national honor as Golf Magazine named it one of “The Top 10 New Course You Can Play in the United States” in their January 2007 issue.
 In addition to the award-winning golf shop, Angel Park has been voted the #1 Public Course in Las Vegas the past 12 consecutive years by the Las Vegas Review Journal readers’ poll. Commonly referred to as Las Vegas’ most complete golf experience, Angel Park features 36 holes of championship golf designed by Arnold Palmer and a 12-hole “Cloud Nine” Short Course. The course has also been noted as “Best Practice Facility” by VegasGolfer in December ‘05 in part for its “Original” natural grass putting course and expansive practice tee.
