POSITION:  MARKETING SPECIALIST - OB SPORTS GOLF MANAGEMENT - CORPORATE
 
Reports To:                  Vice President Sales & Marketing
 
Position Purpose:          
The primary focus of this position will be to generate content that builds meaningful connections to drive additional rounds and revenue to OB Sports managed courses.  This position is responsible for creating original material throughout all phases of the marketing life cycle and across all forms of marketing communications. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, creative, trendy and a self-starter with excellent writing skills and an attention to detail. Excellent communicators with a deep understanding of social media and the digital space will have preference.  This position will also provide administrative support to corporate marketing, as needed.  An interest and knowledge of golf and golf operations experience is required.
 
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Handle all internal and external Bonus Points calls and emails, setup new accounts when courses are added, work with squareFACE Marketing & VP of Sales & Marketing for best practices in card program marketing
  • Write content for course websites, email marketing and digital newsletters          
  • Write Press releases as needed; Publish to website and distribute to media
  • Become an expert in company’s product and service offerings, identifying opportunities to reach target audiences through email marketing, social media or additional platforms
  • Prepare and distribute corporate email marketing; develop marketing calendar; assist in development of programs to drive revenues to courses
  • Build and execute social media strategy; develop and maintain calendars for publishing content; distribute social media leaderboard, provide guidance and recommendations to courses on social media
  • Manage Company’s social media reputation, monitoring user-generated content for each platform and ensuring delivery of an appropriate corporate response or interaction
  • Conduct monthly audit of course and corporate websites to ensure content is current and identify opportunities to enhance SEO
  • Assist VP of Sales & Marketing and Director of Marketing in administration and execution of special events (e.g. Team Championship, GM conference, etc.)
  • Assist with new course transitions – obtain images, logo, etc. – checklist and standards of where to save
  • Ensure a high level of understanding of the competitive product
  • Review competitors’ programs and watch industry trends
  • Other duties as requested and as deemed necessary
  • Assist with Customer Experience program; distribute summary dashboard reporting to leadership
  • Assist in managing content for Intranet (communications board, internal communication)
  • Work with corporate department heads to collect content for OB Sports employee newsletter 
 
Experience / Education / Certification Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
  • 1-2 years marketing or PR experience
  • Golf Experience strongly preferred
  • Must have advanced computer proficiency with MS Office products
  • Accurate math and typing skills
  • Must have excellent communication and writing skills
  • Must have strong business acumen
  • Design skills and SEO knowledge preferred 
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. to waist height.
  • Frequent bending turning, kneeling and stooping
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods.
  • Repetitive motion required including computer entry.
  • Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language.
