POSITION: ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST - OB SPORTS GOLF MANAGEMENT

POSITION:  ACCOUNTS PAYABLE SPECIALIST - OB SPORTS GOLF MANAGEMENT 

Reports To:                  Corporate Accounting Group
 
Position Purpose:        The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible and accountable primarily for supporting full-cycle accounts payable processes for multiple golf courses under management.  This position is located in our Scottsdale Corporate Office.  In this role, it is crucial to be able to handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.  Effective communication with vendors and all team members is critical.  Attention to detail and working well with others is a must. 
 
General Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
 
Accounting and General Office:
  • Maintain accurate and organized accounting information for posting to the general ledger
  • Route accounts payable invoices for approval and post in accounting system
  • Review GL coding for accuracy
  • Reconcile Vendor Statements with Vendor Ledgers
  • Process AP check runs
  • Provide support for AP processes at golf courses where full cycle AP is not centralized
  • Support vendor W-9 and 1099 processes
  • Research AP discrepancies and resolve as needed with management approval
  • Managing data base, files, reports, records and spreadsheets
  • Assist team with administrative tasks and other reasonable tasks that may be assigned
  • Provide month-end and interim reports to support monthly and interim reporting cycles
 
Experience / Education / Requirements:
  • Associates degree with 3-5 years of experience in a similar capacity (preferred)
  • Experience with Centralized AP processing for multiple entities
  • Experience with paperless AP systems migration a plus
  • Must be willing to “roll-up” sleeves and dig in with associated to drive processes that support the business
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Sage50 (or other accounting systems)
  • Have the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Must have excellent writing and verbal skills
  • Keen business sense; able to exercise good judgment as necessary
  • Must be able to work with and maintain confidential information at all times
  • Must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple-priorities
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. to waist height
  • Frequent bending turning, kneeling and stooping
  • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motion required for computer entry
  • Must be able to fluently speak and write the English language
